For employers
A leader who's at home in the field, in the design meeting and in the executive suite
I'm a healthcare capital programs and operations executive with more than 15 years of leadership experience. I oversee hospital capital programs that include a $580M cancer center, and before that I founded and ran two companies.
Strengths
What I bring
Large programs in working hospitals
I've been an owner-side co-lead of a $580M cancer center program on an active academic medical campus, and I oversee and report on a $65M+ annual portfolio. Of the projects and programs I've run at Maryland, 92% came in on or under budget.
Both sides of the contract
I've been the owner's representative and the contractor. I know how contractors price and manage risk, and what owners and clinicians need from them.
A founder's accountability
I've founded and run two companies with full responsibility for profit and loss, hiring, sales, contracts and cash flow.
Working style
What it's like to work with me
How I lead
I give people clear ownership and decision rights, meet with them regularly and coach them directly. I coordinate teams of more than 30 internal and external people and mentor project managers as they grow.
How I decide
I want the risks, the numbers and the options on one page, reviewed on a steady rhythm. When something needs an executive's decision, I bring a recommendation with it.
How I work with others
I'm comfortable in the field, in design meetings and in the executive suite. I build real working relationships and still hold people to their commitments on cost, schedule and quality.
Fit
Where I can help most
- Scope
- A role leading directors and senior leaders, with responsibility for major capital portfolios, strategy, budgets, staffing and standards.
- Environment
- Health systems and academic medical centers first. I'm also interested in life sciences, higher education and mission-critical facilities.
- Location
- Based in Maryland, and glad to talk about opportunities beyond the region.
